REVIEW

Pros

Cons

There's a LOT more to do in this game than in the original. The plot and story have enough mystery and intrigue to keep you engaged. There are plenty of interesting NPC's to meet, some of which are real historical figures. The key protagonist, Ezio, has a lot more moves and abilities than Altair from the first game. Ezio has enough personality that you actually learn to care about him. The graphics are absolutely stunning!

The plot can still be a bit confusing at times. The story's time-line sometimes jumps years ahead but you wouldn't know it. Climbing skyscrapers in order to see the full map is still painfully annoying.

Score(out of 100)

90%

The original Assassin’s Creed was a good game in theory but was not good in its execution. I found the game so boring and repetitive that I quit playing about halfway through (I went straight to Youtube to view how the story ended). What’s the use of having a huge world to explore if there’s hardly nothing to do in it? Personally, I didn’t think AC was deserving of much of the praise it received.

Enter the sequel. Assassin’s Creed 2 successfully addresses the monotony of the first game by giving you TONS of variety. As a matter of fact, you’ll encounter the opposite problem: you’ll be so overwhelmed with stuff to do that you’ll find yourself getting lost in some of the side quests. Fyi, this is a GOOD thing! Assassin’s Creed 2 improves upon its predecessor in almost every way. The fact that this is a beautiful game to look at is an added bonus - it’s much more fun running along the rooftops in gorgeous Renaissance Italy than the drab and dusty locales of the first game. If you’re looking for an adventure with a deep plot, memorable characters and tons of eye-candy, then don’t miss out on Assassin’s Creed 2.
